Scrap Yard Management Systems
MSA’s Scrap Yard Management Systems streamline the handling and tracking of scrap materials, improving operational efficiency while supporting a safer, more organized workplace. These systems provide operators with clear loading instructions, track scrap boxes throughout the facility, maintain accurate inventory levels, and integrate seamlessly with your existing ERP, purchasing, and melt shop systems. By combining real-time visibility with automated tracking, MSA helps scrap yards optimize processes, reduce errors, and enhance overall workflow.
Benefits
Increase Consistency
Ensure materials are loaded accurately and consistently across shifts.
Reduce Loading Times
Streamline bucket loading operations, saving time and improving worker productivity.
Seamlessly Integrates into Existing IT Infrastructure
Existing scales, scoreboards, radiation detectors, and RFID tags can be incorporated into the scrapyard system.
Improve Inventory Control
Maintain up-to-date, precise inventory levels to support production planning.
Enhance Material Tracking
Track materials and vendors while reconciling theoretical versus actual charge weights.
Features
MSA’s scrapyard management systems are not a “one size fits all” installation. System components may be customized based on the client’s unique scrapyard and meltshop operations and requirements.
Features
Bucket Layering
Distributes and layers required charge materials over some number of buckets using user-defined constraints.
Bucket Loading Instructions
Provides layer-by-layer loading instructions to the operator on a touch-screen industrial PC or tablet.
Under-Crane Optimization
Determines the best replacement material to use when an operator is loading a scrap bucket and a requested material is unavailable.
Post Load Editor
Allows a manager/operator to correct any mistakes that were made (to materials or amounts) during the loading operation.
Scrapyard Inventory Map
Displays the location of under-crane materials and allows the operator to select a material for loading.
Truck/Bucket/Box Tracking
Tracks the status of equipment in the plant using RFID or GPS technologies.
Reporting
Provides the reports needed to run your operation, including Loaded Buckets, Charged Buckets, Scrap Usage, and Yard/Pile Inventory.
