MSA, ProsanosTM Announce Strategic Alliance

Management Science Associates, Inc., (MSA) of Pittsburgh and ProSanosTM Corporation of La Jolla, CA, today announced a new strategic alliance to pursue biomedical informatics projects on a national and worldwide basis. The announcement was made by David B. Parrish, Vice President of MSA's Medical Division, and Jonathan Morris, MD, President and CEO of ProSanos. ProSanos (formerly called GenMatics) is a biomedical informatics company focused on the use of clinically developed disease models to analyze large amounts of clinical, genomic and biological information. MSA is a world leader in informatics, data management and analytics. As strategic partners, the companies will participate in developing a variety of products and services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare industries.

"The most exciting medical development in our generation is the rise of molecular biology, with the prospect of understanding the genetic basis of disease," Mr. Parrish said. "The integration of genetic information into the general database will offer extraordinary new insights into the causes, prevention and treatment of a variety of diseases that have previously resisted analysis. While we have numerous studies of hypertension, cardiac disease, proteinuria, renal insufficiency and even genetics, little has been done to link this information or to correlate how these earlier conditions may affect the final stages of the disease. For the first time, the ProSanos approach allows all the available data to be effectively applied." Dr. Morris said, "Integrating and analyzing the full spectrum of information allows clients to reduce product development cost and time to market, more efficiently select appropriate cohorts for clinical targeting and trial, and more effectively identify new targets for therapeutics and diagnostics. MSA is an ideal partner for us, with its expertise in data modeling, its world-class data centers, and its track record in both the governmental and commercial marketplaces."

As part of this alliance, MSA and ProSanosä have created an advanced biomedical data center addressing many of the compliance issues associated with the rigorous security and data integrity standards required by the biomedical community. This data center integrates MSA’s experience and expertise in data systems and information management with ProSanos’s visionary approach to incorporating clinical outcomes with molecular data in discrete disease models. The center provides the platform for the sophisticated tools required to analyze today’s genomic and clinical data.
